Arjun Rampal’s much celebrated lounge bar/nightclub ‘LAP’, which can be called as one of the most exclusive watering holes in Delhi, was raided by police officials in the wee hours of Saturday.
According to reports, a group of cops from the nearby Chanakyapuri police station descended on LAP at Samrat Hotel on an apparent tip-off from a guest who had divulged that Manu Sharma, the man serving life sentence for murdering Jessica Lall, had been spotted there.
Police sources suggest that the bodyguard of one of the guests had even confirmed later that Sharma was indeed there, but clarified that the cops were acting on a tip- off at 2.30 am that- certain people were engaging in rowdy behaviour in the nightclub.
Sharma, who is serving his life sentence at Tihar Jail, had been granted a thirty day parole starting from September 22 by Lt- Governor Tejendra Khanna on humanitarian grounds as his mother is unwell. The parole was later extended by another thirty days to November 22.
Quite strangely, though the sources suggested that the cops raided the place scouting for Manu, still, they ended up taking with them two businessmen as they were creating “a ruckus”.
