Suneil Shetty has always been a supportive friend to Sanjay Dutt. A proof of his loyalty to Dutt is the fact that Shetty saved Sanjay from getting replaced in a film recently. Mukti, a film starring both the actors was launched a few years ago, but got stuck mid-way as Dutt got busy with other projects. When director Ajay Phansekar decided to replace Dutt, Suneil Shetty intervened and suggested that they should wait for Dutt to get free.
“The film, which has an ensemble cast – Shabana Azmi, Vinod Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Suneil Shetty and Ravi Kishan, besides Sanjay Dutt – came to a standstill when Sanjay Dutt developed political aspirations. Later, he got busy with All The Best and Blue. There came a time when Ajay contemplated replacing Sanjay Dutt with another actor. But Suneil, being Dutt’s good friend, did not allow that to happen.”
When contacted, Ajay revealed that “the shooting will be complete by next month.”
