Allu Ar Allu Aravind Had Faced Allegations In Chiranjeevi’s PRP

Mr Allu Aravind, Praja Rajyam’s strategist and party president Chiranjeevi’s brother-in-law, has been relieved of all responsibilities including that of treasurer of the party. Mr Kamineni Srinivas has been made the new treasurer of the party.
Mr Aravind, who was also general secretary and member of the policy making body, had faced allegations of collecting huge funds from party candidates during the general election. Many had openly accused him of demanding money.

Further, Mr Aravind had also been blamed for fielding weak candidates in many places. Faced with all these allegations, Mr Aravind has not been participating in party activities for the last five months, particularly after the poll debacle.Sources said he had been keeping away since did not want to embarrass Chiranjeevi and other leaders by actively taking part in programmes since it would send wrong signals to the workers. “Moreover, he did not want to give an impression that the PR was merely a family affair,” said the source.Chiranjeevi’s brothers Nagababu and Pavan Kalyan have also been maintaining distance from the party for a while.Meanwhile, the party has cautiously reacted to the meeting of its MLAs with the Kadapa MP, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“It was only a courtesy call,” Mr Chiranjeevi said. “They met Mr Jagan as his father Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy died in a helicopter crash.” Chiranjeevi was not willing to react on the comments made by the TRS president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, but advised the latter not to criticise leaders of other regions. The PR is hopeful of winning respectable number of seats in GHMC elections. Mr Kattela Srinivas Yadav, president of the PR Greater Hyderabad wing, has reportedly submitted the list of candidates to the party chief.
