Soundarya Rajinikanth, second daughter of Superstar got engaged with boy friend Ashwin Kumar on Feb 17, 2010. Ashwin has completed his master’s degree from the Stanford University in USA and is now working in his family business. He is the son of real estate tycoon Ram Kumar in Chennai.
Both the families knew each other for long time. Soundarya Rajinikanth and Ashwin Kumar were friends but this development in friendship is new. The marriage will be a love cum arranged marriage. Soundarya’s elder sister Aishwarya wed cine star Dhanush some years ago.
At present Soundarya Rajinikanth is directing animation film Sultan, the warrior. Her own production company Ocher Picture Productions is at the helm. Her debut venture into producing film came to reality with the release of flick Goa on Jan 29, 2010. Sultan is scheduled to hit theatres in April, 2010.
Engagement ceremony took place at Hotel Park Sheraton in Chennai. Soundarya exchanged rings with groom Ashwin in the presence of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and many VIPs including actors Kamal Haasan.
Soundarya Rajinikanth and Ashwin Kumar will tie knot only after the release of both Sultan and Endhiran. The marriage date is not announced yet.

Karthi ‘Siruthai’ release in the month of December.
The young star Karthi who is on a success ride with his latest release ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, is all planning to have its next film ‘Siruthai’ release in the month of December. The film is said to be a remake of a tollywood block buster ‘Vikramarkudu’. Karthi is going to play dual role for the first time in his career.
Sources say “Shiva has earlier directed films like ‘Souryam’ and ‘Sankham’. His Kollywood debut will be ‘Siruthai’, which has Tamannaah opposite Karthi. Comedy portion will be taken care of by Santhanam.”

Muran director By Cheran
The famous director Cheran who has wielded the megaphone for ‘Vettrikodi Kattu, Pandavar Bhoomi, Autograph, Thavamai Thavamirundhu’ and the recent ‘Pokkisham’ is going to produce a new project under his own production banner Dream Theatres which has been titled as ‘Muran’.
