The IPL Mania Hits Tollywood Movie Industry

Posted on 11 Mar 2010 at 10:07am

The industry normally releases at least two big budget movies each month, but this time around most movie makers are unwilling to release films as they believe footfalls will be low. Producers are planning a mid-summer release after the IPL mania has died down and exams are done with.

“I went to a theatre in the city yesterday and there was only one ticket sold. It is shocking but the reality is that parents don’t turn up in theatres as their kids have exams. Youngsters obviously don’t turn up because of exams and IPL matches. It doesn’t make business sense releasing movies until the end of this month,” says Sreedhar Reddy, director of Snehageetham, who has completed filming and will release the movie next month.

Movie Review: Sadhyam

Posted on 10 Mar 2010 at 6:20pm

Movie: Sadhyam

Director: Karthikeya Gopala Krishna

Music: Chinni Charan

Cast: Jagapathi Babu, Priyamani, Tannikella Bharani, Keerthi Chawla

This is the third film in the combination of Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani. Though their earlier flicks Pellaina Kothhalo (a super hit) and Pravarakhyudu (an average show) could work a wonder with the pair, this time it brought monotony and failed to create repeat the magic.

Suhani (Priyamani) is a reserved type a lady. One day, she happened to rescue Krishna Prasad (Tannikella Bharani) from an accident and gives him first aid. As a gesture of gratitude, he presents her a revolver with one bullet in it. He tells her to use it at her opponent at the eleventh hour. Suhani makes an attempt at her friend turned foe (Keerthi Chawla) but could not do it. She again tries to shoot Sandeep (Jagapathi Babu), only to fall in love with him. Why does she want to kill them, and why does she fail in her attempts. This forms the crux of the movie.
