chiranj1 Chiranjeevi Never Sought The Congress President Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s Appointment

The Praja Rajyam chief, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, on Wednesday said the Congress is a weak party and it was evident with the alliance proposal coming from the ruling party.Mr Chiranjeevi, who spoke on alliances for the first time, made it clear that the proposal of alliance had never been mooted by his party.

The PR chief also clarified that he never sought the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi’s, appointment and it was purely a media speculation.Mr Chiranjeevi said the PR will not be merged with the Congress in the future as his party had received 19 per cent votes.Talking about the merger, he said: “The Congress leaders, who have been talking about the merger, had agreed with such proposal that the ruling party’s position will weaken. They wanted to strengthen themselves. It will not be possible since our party is one of the major forces in the state.”

Meanwhile, the PR has issued B-forms to 64 candidates though it had wanted to field only 50 candidates in the GHMC polls.“Local leaders are keen to contest in the respective divisions where PR is very strong. The party high command agreed to field more candidates by considering their request,” said Mr Kattela Srinivas Yadav, Praja Rajyam, Greater Hyderabad president.
