Character artiste and comedian Sanjay Mishra has a new lease of life, thanks to Sanjay Dutt. A few months ago, Mishra was admitted to a hospital where he underwent treatment for pus formation in the intestine caused due to excessive consumption of pan masala. Even then, Mishra couldn’t quit until Dutt advised him to give up.
Mishra got addicted to pan masala in 2001 when he began acting in the popular TV show Office Office. “My character (Shuklaji) in Office Office required me to consume a lot of pan masala. Slowly but surely, I got addicted to it,” said Mishra.
Ironically, it was Dutt who gave Mishra several pouches of pan masala last year. Mishra said, “We were shooting for Chattur Singh in South Africa. Wahan pan masala nahi milta tha. Dutt saab had some with him and he gave it to me.”
However, later when the two met on the sets of All The Best, Dutt asked him to kick the habit as he too had stopped eating pan masala. “Dutt saab’s advice worked. I feel so nice and fresh these days. I even got married last month (to Kiran Pant),” added Mishra.
