High Court Seeking A Stay On The Release Of Unnaipol Oruvan0 comments

Pyramid Saimira has filed a petition in the High Court of Madras seeking a stay on the release of Kamal Haasan’s Unnaipol Oruvan. According to the petitioner, Kamal’s Raaj Kamal International entered into an agreement with them to produce the historical film Marmayogi. On the assurance of the actor that he would rope in Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and Priyanka Chopra to star in the film, Pyramid Saimira handed over Rs. 10.90 crores to the actor.

However, Kamal did not make any attempts to sign up the actors, alleges the petitioner. Yet another complaint against the actor is that as per the contract, he cannot move on to other projects without completing his commitment to the petitioner. Based on all these allegations, the petitioner filed a case seeking a stay in the release of Unnaipol Oruvan until their dues amounting to Rs. 7.82 crores are settled. The judge posted the case for hearing on September 16th.
