Finally, “Prince” Mahesh Babu has denied rumours that he would be campaigning for the Congress party in the forthcoming elections.
On Sunday, Mahesh Babu clarified that he has no interest whatsoever in politics and therefore the question of campaigning for Congress does not arise. “I do not know the difference between an MP and an MLA. How can I campaign for a political party, when I do not understand the basics of politics?” he asked.
There were rumours that the Congress is trying to rope in Mahesh Babu for campaigning, as a counter to Telugu Desam’s plan of involving Junior NTR in electioneering. The basis for this rumour could be Mahesh being son of superstar Krishna, who was once a Congress MP and still a Congress sympathizer. Krishna’s brother Adiseshagiri Rao is still a Congress leader and recently tried for Rajya Sabha ticket too.
With Mahesh clarifying his position, Congress would have to look for another glamour doll for campaigning.
