The Puneet Raj Kumar and Bhavana starrer Jackie is the hottest product in the Kannada film industry today. This is Bhavana`s debut movie in Kannada.

The film has created a big buzz among the Kannada film fans and trade circles mainly because of the Puneet Raj Kumar, Soori combination. The film is being produced by Puneet Raj Kumar’s home banner under the supervision of his elder brother Raghavendra Rajkumar. Ms. Parvathamma Rajkumar, mother of both Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneet Raj Kumar is the official producer of the film.

Sensing the big hype around this movie, Raghavendra Rajkumar has decided to release the film when the curiosity levels reach its peak. He has planned for September 23 or 30 release (the holiday season) which will ensure a steady flow of family audience to the theatres. The film has music by Hari Krishna and Sathya Hegde who has worked wonders in Soori’s previous films is behind the camera.

The songs for the movie are now being picturised from South Africa, Namibia and Italy. Once they return to Bangalore they will have to can two more songs. The entire talkie portion of the film has been completed and Soori has also finished the dubbing work for the film. Director Soori knows that the expectations barometer of the film has been raising ever since the fifteen to thirty seconds video of some fight sequences were released.

“I can say the characterization of Puneet sir will be entirely different from all his previous films. We are now focused on getting all the songs perfectly. The fight sequences of the film will certainly be a major attraction. We have shot these sequences with a lot of commercial elements. I am also planning to shoot the songs with a lot of commercial ingredients. I can say Puneet sir’s performance will be the major highlight of the film as much as its songs and fights. Puneet sir has shown a lot of energy in each and every frame. The whole project has been conceived quite differently” says the film’s director Soori.

Already the two teasers of the fight sequences of Jackie which has been on `You tube` has caught the imagination of Power Star’s large fan following. And the business lobby has also offered unheard prices for the film. The rumours floating in Gandhinagar is that a big distributor has offered Rs. 7.30 crores for obtaining the distribution rights in three areas. Already there is an offer of Rs. 2 crores for the Northern Karnataka distribution area and Rs. 55 lacs for Shimoga. This is the first time that a Kannada film has been offered such a big prize for the outright distribution of the film. The satellite rights of the film has been sold at a record price.
