Hats off to Bala and producer K.S Sreenivasan of Naan Kadavul, they have marketed the film very well. All distribution rights of the film worldwide have been sold at decent prices.Naan Kadavul, has been nearly three years in the making and went through two producers before Sreenivasan picked it up. And when Zee TV backed out after buying all rights, the world around Bala crashed.
But Bala and Sreenivasan were confident about their product and they went on a aggressive marketing spree. They had a big audio launch which made the songs composed by Ilayaraja popular and the trailer was stunning. The buzz on the movie became big overnight as Bala’s trailer cut was appreciated. Soon the word spread that the film is different and may work at the box-office, and the trade was gung-ho about it.
Anyway now that all areas have been sold and the film has got through the censors with an ’UA’ certificate, theatres are willing to pay reasonable MG for it. Naan Kadavul, is now confirmed to release in approximately 220 screens worldwide on February 6.It will be Arya’s and Bala’s biggest ever release, and a lot of hope and goodwill is riding on it. It has got the best of screens and a silent prayer is going on in the industry for its success. Naan Kadavul, should click for the sake of the beleaguered Tamil film industry, which badly needs good content and a universal hit at the box-office.
