Looks like the Russians will soon get a taste of our song and dance routines. In an effort to strengthen the relationship between the two countries and to introduce ‘some facets of Indian culture’, old and new Tamil movies are planned to be screened in Moscow. The Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce also has plans to launch a website matrusshka.com that will list the Indian movies screened in Russia apart from other services.
Movies being considered to be screened include the old classics Saraswati Sabatham, Vasantha Maligai, Pudiya Paravai and blockbusters from the recent times including Muthu and Vettaiyadu Vilayadu. There will also be a Russian Film Festival in December in Chennai followed by an Indian Film Festival in Moscow in January, Thenappan, Secretary of the Indo-Russian Chamber of Commerce was quoted as saying to a tabloid.
