Prakashraj says he has not taken any fee for acting in Priyadarshan’s film. There’s a curse on award winning films. They may get international awards but lack theatres wiling to screen them locally.One such film is ‘Aadum Koothu’ starring Cheran and directed by TV Chandran. It won a national award but is yet to be screened in theatres as it has no buyers. Navia Nair has done an important role in this. One can say, the film itself revolves around her. The film has been bought by Z TV.
On an international level, Priyadarshan’s film ‘Kanchivaram’ is winning awards galore. But rasikas are apprehensive that like other award wining films, this will also find no takers to screen it. But Prakashraj, who has done an important role in this, is confident that it will soon be released next month.The film participated in the Canada Film Festival and was also chosen for the Indian Panorama section. “I have not taken any fee for acting in this film. Our agreement is only a share in the profits,” said Prakashraj.
