Sri Lanka born rapper M.I.A has put her weight behind Jan Jananayagam, an independent candidate for the European parliament election, having announced that those who vote for the Tamil candidate will get a free song download.The 32-year-old Oscar nominated artiste who was on Time`s list of 100 most influential people this year has been in news for her outspoken support to the Tamil cause in Sri Lanka and took to My Space to announce her support for Jananayagam, reported Contactmusic.
"Vote for Jan Jana!!! And I`ll give you a free song!" wrote the `Paper Planes` hit maker on her My Space blog.The outspoken star whose real name is Maya Arulpragasam has often been accused of supporting the Tamil terrorist organisation LTTE, with the roaring tiger, the extremist group`s symbol featuring as a leitmotif in many of her songs .
